When a sewer line breaks, you know it. Drains back up. The house smells. A soggy, extra green patch shows up in the yard. It is stressful, and it is easy to say yes to the first big quote.
Here is the thing: not every broken sewer line needs the same fix. Some pipes have one bad joint. Some have roots all along the line. Some have caved in. The right repair depends on what is really down there, and the only way to know is to look.
That is why every sewer repair at Wheatland starts with a sewer camera inspection. Then we give you your options, in plain words. Because we do camera work, spot repairs, full replacement, and trenchless lining in-house, we don’t have a reason to push one over the other.
Our Sewer Line Repair Options
Spot Repair
- When only one short section is broken, we dig at that spot and replace just that piece of pipe.
Dig-and-Replace
- When the pipe has caved in, has a deep sag, or is broken in many places, we dig it up and put in new pipe.
Trenchless Lining
- When the pipe is cracked or full of root holes but still has its shape, we can line it from the inside with Perma-Liner. No long trench. See trenchless sewer line repair.
Cleaning When That Is All You Need
- If the camera shows the pipe is in good shape and just clogged, we clear it with drain cleaning and tell you so.
Our Sewer Line Repair Process
Step 1: Call or Request Service. Call (913) 833-2304 or use the form. Tell us what is happening and how long it has been going on.
Step 2: Camera Inspection. We run a camera through the line and show you the bad spots.
Step 3: Honest Options. We explain which fix fits your pipe and why, and give you a clear quote.
Step 4: Make the Repair. Our own crew does the work. No subcontractors.
Step 5: Clean Up and Explain. We clean up and walk you through what we did.
Signs You May Need Sewer Line Repair
- Many drains are slow or gurgle at the same time
- Sewer smells inside the house or in the yard
- A wet or extra green patch of grass over the sewer line
- Backups that keep coming back after cleaning
- Water coming up through the lowest floor drain or tub
When many fixtures act up at once, the problem is usually the main sewer line, not one drain.
What Affects the Cost of Sewer Line Repair?
We don’t post prices, because no two sewer lines are the same. The cost depends on:
- Which repair fits: spot repair, full replacement, or a liner
- How deep the pipe is and how long the bad section is
- What is on top of it: grass, driveway, patio, or trees
- The pipe material and size
- Access to a cleanout

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to dig up my whole yard?
Not always. A spot repair only digs at the bad section. A liner needs very little digging. A full replacement is for pipe that is too far gone.
How do you know which repair I need?
We run a camera through the line first. The camera shows us where the damage is and how bad it is.
What causes sewer lines to break?
Tree roots, old pipe, ground that shifts and settles, and freeze and thaw. Older pipes are more likely to crack at the joints.
Is it my sewer line or my septic tank?
If the tank is empty but the house still backs up, the problem is likely the pipe between the house and the tank. We do septic and sewer work, so we can find out.
